Animals in Need
Have you ever wondered how someone can put their beloved pet in a shelter? Sometimes they have to because they are moving to a place that doesn’t allow pets. Sometimes it’s because they can’t give their pet the love and attention that it needs.
But have you ever stopped to think about how or why there are over 70 million homeless animals in the United States? If every single person in the U.S. owned a pet, then there would be a significant decline in euthanasia’s in animal shelters. If every person went to an animal shelter right now and adopted an animal in need, we wouldn’t have a need for animal shelters.
In reality that won’t happen because not everyone can afford to own a pet or love that pet the way it needs to be loved. Think about it this way, if you work for 8 hours a day, live alone in an apartment, you come home to an empty apartment, right? Well, say you wanted a cat, for example, you go to your local shelter and find the perfect kitty for you, you get home introduce the cat to their new home and they seem content. What will they do for 8 hours while you’re at work? They would be bored out of their minds because their owner isn’t home to play, cuddle or pet them.
Anything can happen if you have a cat, or any other animal, and you aren’t home. They could get into something they shouldn’t, they could eat the carpet, scratch everything in sight. What you don’t want to have to do is take them to the emergency room because of something they did. This is why most pet owners make sure their pet is safe or they get a pet sitter, but that’s not always the case when the pet owner can’t afford to hire someone to take care of their pet.
So, this is one of MANY reasons why there are so many homeless and lost animals out in the world today. Our mission here at Dog & Cat Sanctuary is to take in these animals and to find permanent, loving homes for them. All you have to do is share our mission and donate today, anything helps!
Be a hero to animals in need.
